OpenDownoad 0.2
What is this? This is a mozilla extension that allows you to open ANY file (executables, etc.) from the internet into the default program assigned by your operating system, without needing to save it first.
NOTE: This does NOT stream files -- it downloads the file to a temp directory and then envokes your operating system to open it.
How do I use it?- Click on a file to download from the interenet. (for example, the mozilla windows installer)
- When the download dialog appears, click "Open with Win32 appliction", where Win32 is the name of your operating system.
- Click OK
- The file now will download to a temporary directory and automatically launch
The open download extension first downloads the file into a temporary directory, then tries to launch it with your operating system. At that point your operating system will decide what program to open it with.
